The cargo ship takes shape

With the skeleton standing, this phase filled the cargo ship: images, music, content.

The images

The illustrations for the ship’s ten locations arrived — corridors, holds, engine rooms — plus the variants that change when the world changes: move something in the hold, and the hold shows it. The inventory took visual shape too, with an image for every item.

The sound

The first six scene tracks, one per area of the ship, with a detail we care about: crossfade — moving between locations, tracks blend for a couple of seconds instead of cutting. A small thing, but it is the difference between an app and a place. Each inventory item also received its own sound effect on selection.

The content

The biggest step: all ten screens were filled with final text — descriptions, examinable objects, verb responses — and most of the puzzles entered the game logic.

The opening

The game gained its opening sequence: a cinematic of still images with slow camera moves and credits, set to an orchestral theme composed for the game. And for those who need it, a high-contrast mode arrived, turning off every decoration in favour of pure readability.
