Side paths

With the main route solid, this phase worked on the margins — which is where adventures become memorable.

The detours

Three optional side paths entered the game: attempts you can make (and fail), one more signal to discover in the ether, a corner of the ship hiding a detail about life aboard. None is required to finish the game; all add context for those who find them. And a phrase overheard in passing finally gets its payoff at the end of the game.

The eyes

Twelve location illustrations were replaced with new versions, and the game gained detail close-ups: on certain elements, LOOK opens a full-screen close-up — the panel, the photograph, the object — before returning to the scene. Cinema language inside a terminal interface.

The threshold

The way into the game changed too: a simulated boot of the ship’s system, then the cover screen with “PRESS ANY KEY”, then an essential menu, just entries and glow. The first impression now resembles the game that follows it.
